Princess Ida

Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society
  • 23 May - 27 May 7.30pm
The Great Hall, Highlands College

The court of King Hildebrand awaits the arrival of King Gama and his daughter Ida, who as an infant was promised in marriage to Hildebrand’s son Hilarion.  Outrage ensues when Gama arrives without his daughter and informs the court that rather than marry Hilarion, Ida has established a female only university in a remote castle where she presides. What follows is a riotous battle of the sexes as Hilarion and his friends attempt to infiltrate the college to win Ida’s favour.

Following the success of last year’s production of ‘Yeomen of the Guard’, the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society return once again to the splendour of the Great Hall at Highlands College for a performance that promises all the infectious musicality and wit that you’d expect of G&S.
