Two young royals contemplate marriage. Three ladies’ maids fear an impending plague. Four schoolboys find themselves preoccupied with an iconic series of murders.

Follow one piece of furniture in a gripping journey through British history that shows how our country was shaped and how connected we are with our past.

From The War of the Roses, the Industrial Revolution and World War One, all the way through to the present day, small groups of young people seek sanctuary in the same old solid wardrobe. It’s the safest place they know – but is it safe enough?
