The Landscapes of Memory presents a deeply personal exploration of Jersey’s coastline by Fox Open Art Competition winner Robert Allen.
Working en plein air, Allen captures the island’s shifting light, textures, and geological tensions, where memory and landscape merge. Each painting is shaped by the elements and by his own lived connection to place – moments of nostalgia, loss, and renewal embedded in the cliffs and tides. Through works that sit between abstraction and figuration, Allen invites viewers to experience the coastline as both boundary and bridge: a site of transformation, impermanence, and enduring beauty.
