Two sisters, Euridice and Guida, live in Rio de Janeiro in the 1950s. Kept apart by a terrible lie and a conservative and patriarchal society, each live out their lives believing that the other is living their dreams half a world away. This haunting drama was screened in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival where it was awarded the top prize.
