Artists have been invited to transform the walls of the Berni Gallery in a forty-hour live painting challenge, marking fifty years since the birth of British punk. This immersive, time-bound event celebrates the uncompromising spirit of punk – its raw energy, defiance, and enduring influence on art, culture, and identity.
Each artist’s vision will echo the rebellious pulse that reshaped a generation, reinterpreting what it means to resist, to question, and to create without permission. The gallery becomes both stage and street: a space for noise, colour, and collision.
Half a century on, Still Loud asks what remains of punk’s revolution. Has it burned out, or simply changed its form? What does rebellion look like when the walls themselves are the canvas?
