Poly Styrene, punk icon and X-Ray Spexs front woman, was the first woman of colour to front a successful rock band in England. She introduced the world to a new sound of rebellion and was the key inspiration for the Riot Grrrl and Afropunk movements. Her death sends her daughter on a journey across the world and through her mother’s archives to reconcile their fraught relationship.

“a riveting and valuable documentary” – The Guardian
“the film’s secret weapon is its candour, about Britain, the music business, mental health and the subject herself” – The Financial Times
Best Documentary, British Independent Film Awards 2021
