With great focus on Marie Antoinette and Napoleon, this colourful lecture looks at the Reign of Terror and the Ancient Regime, from King Louis the XIV through to Charles the X. It charts the decadent and deadly political buildup to the French Revolution and execution of King Louis the XVI and his Queen, Marie Antoinette, followed by the new order of Napoleon.
Illustrated with Rococo Art portraits of Madame de Pompadour and Marie Antoinette and their circles, then followed by the new Neo Classical Art style, finishing with the French Romantics.
