Still Loud: 50 Years of Punk
Jersey Arts Centre invites artists to take part in Still Loud, a time-constrained installation marking fifty years since the emergence of British punk.
Artists will work directly onto the gallery walls for a total of 40 hours, spread across the week, developing a new artwork in response to the theme. This is a process-led exhibition: artists are invited to propose an idea, not a finished design, and to realise that idea on site – embracing uncertainty, experimentation, and change.
Artists will have access to the gallery between 23 February and 1 March 2026, with work completed in time for the exhibition opening on Monday 2 March.
All artistic disciplines and approaches are welcome. The exhibition is not limited to painting; artists may work with any non-permanent materials that can be safely removed or painted over at the end of the exhibition.
Still Loud asks artists to respond to punk not simply as a style, but as a position – questioning authority, embracing imperfection, resisting polish, or reinterpreting rebellion fifty years on.
Selected artists will receive a fee to cover time and materials. The opportunity is open to artists aged 16 and over.
