All We Imagine As Light follows two roommates who also work together in a city hospital; head nurse Prabha (Kani Kusrati) and recent hire Anu (Divya Prabha), as well as their co-worker, cook Parvaty (Chhaya Kadam). The three women are all encountering different problems in their lives; Prabha, whose husband from an arranged marriage lives in Germany, is courted by a doctor at her hospital; Anu carries on a romance with a Muslim man, which she must keep a secret from her strict family; and Parvaty who finds herself dealing with an unexpected eviction from her apartment.
