Directed by Victoria Gordon and Wayne Stewart
  • 11 June - 12 June 6pm
Jersey Arts Centre

Join Junior Drama’s Bravo and Encore groups for two short plays written to showcase the creativity of young people and reflect the world that we live in today – including one written by Jersey Arts Centre’s Honorary Patron, Tim Crouch!

It’s an investigation into… and a celebration of… humanness.

The Day The Stampers United by Sara Shaarawi

Performed by the Bravos

Some say the day the stampers united it was hot, too hot, and everyone sweated through their shirts. Some say the day the stampers united, it was raining, and the warehouse flooded and everyone’s packages got wet. What we do know is that the day the stampers united started out like any other day, but change was in the air because the stampers believed that it was time for everyone to move however they want, at whatever pace they want, in whichever direction they want.

Are You A Robot? by Tim Crouch

Performed by the Encores

Two groups of children meet. They look the same; they imagine similar things; they make almost the same noises; they dance in almost the same way. But one group is a digital version of the other; they are the face we see reflected back at us online; they’re exciting, demanding and hard to live up to. This is a joyful collision between real and fake, perfect, and imperfect, human and robot.
