You may see more than a few pictures on this website of our seats in the Benjamin Meaker Theatre. Not because we’re particularly passionate about chairs, but because our 250 red velvet seats have been doing a very important job for a very long time.
They’ve supported well over half a million bottoms through first nights, curtain calls, standing ovations, unexpected plot twists and the occasional person who arrives five minutes late because Minden Place was full…
Now, those seats are ready for retirement in April 2027: but here’s where you come in!
We’re about to replace every seat in our auditorium and give our audiences a smarter, more comfortable place to enjoy the performances they love.
Thanks to a generous £50,000 contribution from the States of Jersey Department for the Economy, we’ve made a fantastic start – but we still have some way to go.
So, we’re asking you to take your seat…
For £300 – or £250 for JAC Members – you can sponsor one of our new seats and have the opportunity to dedicate it to yourself, your family, a loved one, or simply because you’d like to help keep local theatre thriving.
We’re hoping to fill all 250 seats, one at a time.
And then, of course, we’ll get on with the important business of putting on the shows.
Beause… every great performance starts with someone taking a seat.
