by Albert Lamorisse

Adapted for the stage by Anthony Clark with original music by Mark Vibrans

Thursday 11 December 7pm: BSL Interpreted Performance with Andrew Higgins

From the creative team that brought The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, The Sound of Music and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (amongst others!) to life, this festive season Jersey Arts Centre will transport audiences to 1950s Paris as it presents its 10th Community Christmas Production!

Based on the Oscar-winning film of the same name by Albert Lamorisse, The Red Balloon follows Pascal, a lonely Parisian boy who finds a friend in the most unlikely of places.

Jersey Arts Centre once again teams up with ARTcomedia to present this imaginative family musical, a story of hope, innocence and the joy of childhood. Don’t miss this uplifting Christmas story for the whole family!

Clark’s adaptations have become justly regarded as unmissable seasonable entertainment… A wondrous children’s musical guaranteed to crack the hardest of adult hearts… No neat moral yarn, but a humorous and haunting fable.” – The Independent on the National Theatre’s 1996 production

‘Jersey Arts Centre’s licence to present Albert Lamorisse’s THE RED BALLOON in a stage adaptation by Anthony Clark is granted by Rosica Colin Limited, London for the Lamorisse Estate, and by the Production Exchange for Anthony Clark.’
