The work I make is through intimate study of buildings past and present, selected for their unique aesthetic, size and relationship with the viewer. I endeavour to extract personality from each structure with my mark-making. Defined by their surroundings, the architecture, rendered in charcoal and pen and ink, aim to provide intrigue and appeal for my audience. The buildings around us in Jersey have lived through history and taken on the burden of time. I want to share with you my views of what I consider to be some of Jersey’s most iconic works of architecture.
