Award-winning pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet enjoys a prolific recording and international concert career. Bavouzet was born in Lannion, France and grew up in Metz. He started his music studies there, encountering such luminaries as Iannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez. Moving to the Conservatoire de Paris, he studied under Pierre Sancan, among others. He regularly works with orchestras such as The Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and NHK symphony orchestras, and collaborates with conductors: Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vladimir Jurowski, Gianandrea Noseda, Francois-Xavier Roth, Nicholas Collon, Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Sir Andrew Davis.
