The Jersey Song Project
Jersey Festival of Words’ opening events have earned a reputation for being vibrant and creative with a distinctly local flavour, and this year is no exception.
The Jersey Song Project is a ground-breaking collaboration between Jersey Festival of Words and musician Kit Ashton, which aims to use the power of song to help keep Jersey’s own language, Jerriais, alive. Jersey musicians and Jerriais speakers will come together to create and perform new songs.
Kit Ashton is a musician, film-maker and producer currently based in Jersey and London. He is the lead singer and founder, in collaboration with L’Office du Jerriais, of pop folk band/applied ethnomusicology project Badlabecques.
Come and be part of this unique contemporary revitalization of Jersey’s rich and historic culture.
