Work from the Rennes Contemporary Art Collection
For more than 30 years, the city of Rennes has acquired modern art for a public collection, now comprising several hundred pieces. It’s just one of a number of initiatives introduced to support young artists from Rennes and the surrounding areas.
The collection – The Fonds Communal d’Art Contemporain de la Ville de Rennes – contains paintings, sculptures, prints, photographers and design-work selected by a panel of professional artists from submissions made each year.
For this exhibition, a selection has been made by M. Pedro Pereira, Head of Visual Arts for the city’s Cultural Department, and Mark Blanchard, Chairman of the Jersey Arts Centre’s Exhibitions Sub-Committee.
This exhibition forms a part of the Jersey-France Festival.
