Hamish Marett-Crosby is a journalist, broadcaster and raconteur who has also enjoyed a long association with the hospitality industry.

His different areas of expertise come together in his book ‘Italy’s Other Island: The Italian Community and the Making of Modern Jersey’. It tells the colourful story of the men and women from Italy who made Jersey their home and played a central part in the success of its tourism as it became the No.1 industry between the 1950s and 1980s. His affectionate history was launched at this year’s Viva Italia! festival in Jersey, a proud new venture by the children and grandchildren of these pasta pioneers.
